Our talented and caring teachers bring rich experience, professional expertise and inspiring dedication to Step by Step School. Our teachers must have an Associates, Bachelors, Masters, CDA related education, sociology and or psychology degree. We are fortunate to have some of the brightest and best teachers from the New York/ New Jersey area.
Our CIT Program (Counselor In Training) gives highschool and/or college interns an opportunity to work in our summer program and if they want can continue while attending his or her highschool or college. Within our diverse community of teachers, the abundance of talent that they bring into the classroom that exemplifies the exceptions and standards to which Step by Step School strive for each and every day.
Step by Step School believes it is essential to building on our teachers’ extensive formal training with ongoing professional development. We host many workshops during staff development days throughout the year. Workshops from the past included a specialized science workshop, a child observation and recording workshop, an art workshop and a child development workshop on recent brain research.
These workshops reflect on personal teaching experiences, allow for growth together as learners, and the sharing of ideas, lessons and opinions with others in a stimulating environment. All teachers are CPR, First Aid and AED Infant/Child Certified.
Background requirements are included for all teachers, which includes national fingerprinting, child abuse and drug testing in addition to credentials.
